Taskforce flies high

1 September 2004

The taskforce set up to help make the internet a safer place was flying high across Europe in September.

As part of a campaign to raise awareness of the Virtual Global Taskforce an advert promoting the group took to the skies.

Travellers using easyJet airlines throughout September saw a full page advert (seen here) featured within its in-flight magazine. The aim was to promote the internet safety message globally and announce the taskforce's website, due to go live later in the year.

Jim Gamble, chair of the Virtual Global Taskforce, said: "easyJet carries two million passengers throughout Europe each month. That is a massive audience and a great opportunity to promote the taskforce and raise awareness."

The advert carried the new taskforce logo - an eye which blends into a person which, when used in moving images, can walk across a page. The advert was carried on the inside back page of the magazine and was seen by passengers travelling to more than 40 destinations across Europe.
