The Cyber Safety Pasifika Project
Cyber Safety Pasifika is a program drawn from Australia’s ‘ThinkUKnow’ and New Zealand’s ‘NetSafe’ Programs, which help young people to safely navigate the internet.
The program is aimed at the various Pacific Island Countries to equip them with the knowledge and resources requried to educate their communities in all aspects of cyber safety.
The pilot program, which includes a ‘train the trainer’ course, has been successfully rolled out in the Cook Islands, Niue, Samoa, Tonga and the Federated States of Micronesia, which may eventually roll out to include the entire Pacific region.
Their official website was launched in May 2012, providing valuable information around internet safety and how to seek help if things go wrong.
For further information on the program, visit the Cyber Safety Pasifika website.
